Years ago, my family faced a horrifying legal situation. I was wrongfully arrested and charged with a serious offense. It took everything my family and I had to fight and prevail, but we made it. That life-changing event showed me how the system is against the accused and how difficult it can be to find someone willing to truly fight for you when you need it most. Because of what I lived through, I left my career as an engineering consultant and went to law school. While attending law school at night, I worked for a law firm in Nashville and traveled across Tennessee, defending people’s rights. I knew that people needed a warrior to shield them from an aggressive legal system that often uses the law to intimidate average citizens and members of our community.
